Still sceptical about the benefits of Face Yoga? by Marie Wheelwright
If you’re still sceptical about the benefits of Face Yoga why not try this simple home experiment?
Can something free, (once you’ve invested in lessons with a qualified teacher like me and a decent, plant-based serum) safe and non-invasive, really make your face look three years younger in just 20 weeks?
It sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it?
But science says it isn’t.
Researchers at the university of Illinois demonstrated that 30 mins of daily face Yoga over a twenty-week period did just that. Exercising the muscles of the face was proven to tighten, tone, lift and firm the cheeks, dramatically reducing visible signs of ageing.
That’s the science bit. But the best way to know for sure is to see it with your own eyes. You really do have nothing to lose by trying this simple and safe experiment. This incredibly simple exercise takes about a minute a day, if that. Why not try it and see if it produces visible results? I’ve been blown away by the results I’ve been getting from it, which prompted me to want to share it with as many of you as possible.
With clean hands, simply take the finger and thumb of each hand, place them next to each other with the index finger at the top, and the thumb beneath, in the space between the brows, and pinch down into the muscle.
This shouldn’t hurt, but might produce red marks. This is a good indication of increased blood flow to the area.
Hold the pinch for a count of eleven, taking deep, cleansing breaths in through the nose and out through the nose.
Why eleven, you might ask?
No special reason, apart from because the vertical lines between the brows caused by habitual frowning or squinting look a bit like the number 11, and in Face Yoga we like to keep things light and playful.
Repeat the pinch three times, and repeat as many times as you like during the day. Pause to notice how the area feels after the exercise. Can you feel a difference? Is there a tingling? Does it change your mood?
The experiment must be repeated daily for at least a couple of weeks to start to see results.
You could even take before and after photos to check your results, and share them if you’re willing.
I’d love to hear how you get on.
